Our CBD oils are born in Gland, in our own laboratory. That is where we work our extracts, from crude extract to bottle, with one simple standard: knowing exactly what is in every bottle that carries our name.

A dedicated space
The laboratory is in Gland, between Lausanne and Geneva. It belongs to Urbanleaf Sàrl, the company behind The Green Lab: a dedicated room with stainless steel benches and splashbacks, an extraction hood and a store room for raw materials and packaging.
In our early days, CDC LAB supported us and made our oils. That collaboration was an important step. Today we are independent: our oils are made in-house by our own team, and we keep control of every step.
From crude extract to bottle
We buy our raw materials, crude extracts and isolates, from suppliers we select, then work them ourselves all the way to the bottle. For a few specific small batches, we also produce our own extract, with ethanol, from dry trim. We do not isolate any cannabinoid: the isolates we use are purchased.
Working the extract on site lets us control what matters: the purity of the distillate, the profile of each recipe and the exact strength of each bottle.
Our equipment
The laboratory is equipped to purify, formulate and package our extracts on site:
- a short path vacuum distillation unit;
- winterisation equipment at −80 °C;
- a rotary evaporator and a vacuum oven;
- heated stirrers and precision balances;
- a bottling and labelling station.
Our quality standards
Quality starts with the choice of materials. We select our crude extracts, isolates and carrier oils (MCT coconut, hemp seed oil, olive and lemon olive) for their quality and consistency, then work them with the same care, batch after batch.
Our strengths are expressed in weight per volume (w/v), the same way across all our sizes: 20% means 200 mg of CBD per millilitre, i.e. 2000 mg in a 10 ml bottle. We explain it in detail in our article on percentages.
Each batch has a number, printed on the label, and its own manufacturing record. Our oils are registered as cosmetic products: each formula has a product information file (PIF), and manufacturing follows good manufacturing practice (GMP).
Testing is not done in-house: the cannabinoid levels of our oils are tested regularly by an external laboratory, Alplant GmbH in Bern.
Ethics and transparency
We prefer to say clearly what we do, and what we do not do. What we buy, what we make ourselves, who tests our oils: this page exists so that you can know.
We promise no health effects and give no dosage: our oils are cosmetic products, and we present them as such. Our labels carry verifiable figures: strength, milligrams per bottle, volume and batch number.
Making our oils in Switzerland, in our own laboratory, is a choice: a team that knows every recipe, a short path from formulation to bottle, and products that comply with Swiss law.
Our oils
Two choices make an oil: the extract’s spectrum, Full Spectrum or Broad Spectrum (our article on spectrums), and the carrier oil (our article on carrier oils). We combine them into four ranges: Sublime and X-Strong on MCT coconut, Hemp on hemp seed oil, and Broad Spectrum on olive, lemon olive or MCT coconut.

Frequently asked questions
Where are The Green Lab CBD oils made?
In our laboratory in Gland, in the canton of Vaud. There we work our extracts from crude extract to bottle. Only testing is entrusted to an external laboratory, Alplant GmbH in Bern.
Do you extract CBD from the plant yourselves?
Generally not: we buy crude extracts and isolates, which we then work ourselves. For a few specific small batches, we carry out an ethanol extraction from dry trim. We do not isolate any cannabinoid.
Who tests your oils?
Alplant GmbH, an analytical laboratory in Bern, regularly tests the cannabinoid levels of our oils. Each bottle also carries a batch number linked to its manufacturing record.
What does “20%” mean on a The Green Lab bottle?
The percentage is expressed in weight per volume: 20% means 200 mg of CBD per millilitre. A 10 ml bottle at 20% therefore contains 2000 mg of CBD, the value shown on the label.
